You Will Be One Of Us: Watch The Trailer For Stephanie Meyer’s ‘The Host’

After giving both the first book and first film a chance, I’m definitely on team Twilight Stinks. I can’t really describe the experience to you better than The Oatmeal’s perfect explanation of how the franchise works. If you’re a fan, that’s cool too, I’ve got nothing against you (unless you’re one of those insane Twilight moms), the series is mega-popular for a reason!

A few years back however, Twilight author Stephanie Meyer released a sci-fi novel titled The Host. Now that the Twilight saga is coming to a close, Entertainment One is hoping to keep the money coming in by adapting Meyer’s non-Twilight title.

Judging from the trailer, The Host doesn’t look half bad! I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes on this one. The film is set to hit theatres on March 29, 2013.

Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed. When Melanie (Saoirse Ronan), one of the few remaining “wild” humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end.
