Wesley Snipes Is Teaming Up With WWE Studios With A Multi-Picture Deal
File this under, “odd but kinda makes sense”. Wesley Snipes and his Maandi Media DMM production company are joining forces with WWE Studios to bring fans a multi-picture deal.
The first in the agreement is the already announced Temple. Starring Snipes himself, Anne Heche, Dave Annable and WWE wrestler Seth Rollings, Temple is being co-produced by Gene Simmons. Yeah, THAT Gene Simmons.
In the Press Release Michael Luisi, President of WWE Studios said:
We are always looking for the ideal talent to extend our brand and Wesley is the right combination of action movie star and savvy producer, We look forward to creating exciting new content with the perfect partner.
The second film under the new partnership is set to start production this year, but no word as to WHAT we can expect from that release. We can easily surmise that it’s going to be action packed (super action?). Snipes said in the release that he’s looking to have some fun with this one:
The action genre has been a very big and important part of my career. There is no better way to extend my love for dynamic action based entertainment than with a company like WWE, who have been entertaining fans for decades with incredible visuals and deliciously entertaining storylines. Maandi strives to create elevated multi-media content that appeals to all demographics worldwide – from childhood fan to feature film collaborators. Wow, sooo cool! We are all incredibly excited to share visions.
Temple is set to release sometime this year.
Be sure to keep an eye here on Geekscape, we’ll definitely be keeping you up to date on this awesome new partnership.
