NOTES: Be sure to play on ALPHA SITE and turn Grunt’s Birthday Party skull ON.

THIS WEEK: VIDMASTER ACHIEVEMENT ENDURE

TIP #1 – Positions, positions, positions…

An old man once told me, “Position is key,” he went on to say, “if it doesn’t feel good, you’re not doing it right.” That old man was Gilmore.

For one thing, the reason you should hold up here is due to the fact that your health packs and ammo are located near by.

Where to be during waves

1.

2.

These two defensive positions are the easiest to assume and they pose the most formidable defense advantage. By taking these places, you put the enemy directly into the crossfire. They become confused, distracted and easy to kill. Only at the end of the round, you know, when the Cheiftins come out to play, can you band together into one spot.

TIP #2 – Bonus Round

This can be simple, or this can be hard, as Old-Man-Gilmore would say. The goal is to get 8,000 points in one minute. During the bonus round, you will only see Grunts. This is the biggest reason why Grunts Birthday Party skull is on. You’ll have a short amount of time to prepare for this. Before this short amount of time, you should already have accumulated Rockets, Fuel Rod Cannons and either Magnums or Carbines. Once that’s done, you and your teammates should get into a good firing postion, perferably one to each window.

At the start of the round, Grunts begin jumping out of the windows towards the ceiling.

With Rockets and Fuel Rod Cannons, you should be aiming at the interior of the space where the grunts come out of, this way you can get splash damage. For those of you who don’t have explosives, aim for the heads. Once you get overrun, which you will, toss nades into the center of the map to score those extra points.

TIP #3 – In Case of Emergancy…

It’s important to note the fact that the further you progress through the sets, the harder it will be to kill a Brute. This is especially because of the skulls Tilt and Mythic.

Once those are on, you can forget about using Magnums, Sniper Rifles, and SMG’s while a Brute’s shield is up. What you’re going to want to do is use a Plasma Pistol + Carbine combo. If you can’t get your hands on a Carbine, use a Magnum. This is the best way to kill while conserving ammo.

If you can’t do either of the above, your best bet is using the Needler, or Plasma Pistol + Melee. Yes, the Melee can be dangerous, but if you learn how to doge the Brute’s lunges, it’ll be nothing more than a pain in the ass. But you should never, ever, use a Fuel Rod Cannon or Rockets on a regular Brute unless you’re about to die.

As far as everything else, here’s a list as to what you should use against Covie baddies.

Hunters = Fuel Rod/Rockets/Gravity Hamme/’Nades

Brute Chieftians = Fuel Rod/Rockets/Gravity Hammer

Brutes = Plasma Pistol + Carbine/Magnum/SMG/Needler/Sniper Rifle/Plasma Rifle/Shotgun/’Nades

Grunts = Magnum/SMG/Plasma Rifle/Carbine/Plasma Pistol/Spiker

Jackles = Magnum/SMG/Plasma Rifle/Carbine/’Nades

Drones = SMG/Plasma Rifle/Magnum/Shotgun
