Teabag Prevention: How to Suck Less at Gears of War 2 – Week 8

It’s January. You and your friends are playing in the snow, having fun, and throwing snowballs at each other. GET INSIDE AND PLAY SOME GEARS.

Don’t pee in the snow on this map, instead make it red stains all over like Gilmore’s sheet.

THIS WEEK: AVALANCHE

TIP #1 – MAN, YOU KNOW WHAT’S UP

Mortar/Machine Gun Turret

When you pick eithe one up, you must watch out for enemies that can be metting you head on. You may want some team support on this one because the enemies are likey to have back-up.

Torque/Boom/Grenades

Now, there’s something tricky here…can you tell? No, ladies and gentlemen, it’s not Gilmore’s love life. You see, when the avalanche occurs, it burries everything in the middle, making the boomshot able to spawn on the little roof that houses the ‘nades. When going for the ‘nades, you’ll have cover to your advantage. If you’re picking the boom up, you’ll be the center of attention. Sure, there’s cover, but it wont protect your from all sides. Shout out to your team to let them know you’re going to pick the boom up so they can watch your back.

Pistol

There’s cover here, so use it. It’s fairly easy if you have team support. You can evan stay in there and aim out the window. Also, it’s pretty dark inside, so if you’re the last one left and wanna just wait it out instead of getting killed and having your team yell you, Brian, just stand in the corner.

TIP #2 – I GOT TOP BUNK

Fighting up top, and near it, can be complicated since you can be easily flanked. Just be aware that anyone can come at you from your left or your right. If the person up top fails, then there goes your sense of security. The same thing goes if you’re on the top and your teammates die down below. Also, be aware the avalanche that happens. Don’t be too preoccupied with killing.

Also, if you do kill everyone and set up with what you got, your main focus is going to be on your team and helping them where they need it. See someone going around to chainsaw your friend? KILL IT.

TIP #3 – S.H.I.E.L.D.

On the other side of the map, you have the two shops, the truck, and some cover. The avalanche DOES NOT affect anyone who is fighting on this side of the map. So when you hear the alarms go off, don’t mind it, keep fighting.
