Michael Keaton Signs On For ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming!’
It appears Michael Keaton is going to become a birdman one more time.
Before Spider-Man had to deal with the likes of the Green Goblin, Electro, Rhino, and Doctor Octopus–our favorite webslinger had to do battle with Adrian Toomes, better known as The Vulture. The wait to see the villain on the big screen is finally over as Variety is reporting that award-winning actor Michael Keaton has officially signed on to play The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming–scheduled for release in 2017.
Keaton will play opposite to Tom Holland, who will be reprising his role of Spider-Man from Captain America: Civil War. Joining them will be Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr., reprising their roles of Aunt May and Tony Stark/Iron Man respectively.
With Michael Keaton’s recent critical acclaim for his recent performances in the last two Academy Award-winning films–Birdman (2014) and Spotlight (2015), and now portraying one of Marvel’s original villains, it will be exciting to see what the man known and loved for his performances as Beetlejuice and Batman will bring to the role.
What other Spidey villains do you want to see? Kraven the Hunter? Mysterio? Hobgoblin? Kangaroo?
Actually, forget that last one…and let us never speak of him again.
