Here’s Your First Full Look At ‘It’s New Pennywise!

Briefly: Warner Bros. debuted our first look at the face of Bill Skarsgard’s terrifying new Pennywise last month, and tonight we’re going to have some insane nightmares based on this first look at the full costume.

Entertainment Weekly has debuted the image, which was designed by Emmy-winning costume designer Janie Bryant (of Mad Men fame), who noted that the costume was developed using themes from multiple bygone eras, including Medieval, Renaissance, Elizabethan, and Victorian.

I never really understood the whole “fear of clowns” thing, and as someone who was born in 1990, I certainly missed out on the It train until I was much older and the mini-series was mostly just cheesy looking.

This image, however, is ridiculously scary.

The source interview with Bryant digs into some of the inspirations of the costume, as well as the stark differences in age between Skarsgard and original Pennywise Tim Curry.
