Geekscape Lost Recaps – The Lighthouse 2/23/2010
What an episode! There were definitely some OMFG moments, but not that many questions…isn’t that a good thing? We’re all a battered wife with Lost and questions…

One thing I wanted to point out was the fact that he was wearing white in both pictures.
Jack
- Jack’s memory seems to be going between the normal-Jack’s past and this new-Jack past (city). First it was his scar and not remembering his appendix getting removed.
- Later in the episode, his mother offers him a drink. Jack declines. Is this because it’s his fathers alcohol or is it because he’s staying sober in fear of becoming a drunk?
- When his mom tells him about how David reacted to Christian’s death, Jack doesn’t seem to remember. This could only mean that Jack remembers the funeral that took place in normal-Jack’s life.
- The only time Jack seems to recall a memory of David is the phone call he made from Sydney.
Notice how his memory issues seem to be only happening with him at this point.
Dogen, A.K.A. The Samurai, A.K.A. Shang Tsung
Was it me, or did alternate reality Dogen and Jack seem like each other’s equals? Maybe Jack is supposed to take Dogen’s place on the island?
The Lighthouse
Now, I’m sure you all saw the buildings jack saw in the mirrors. Here’s what I came up with:
When the dial was pointed at Kwon, the image of what seemed to be Korean architecture appeared. This is indeed where Sun and Jin got married.
As for the tower, what I came up with doesn’t entirely make sense. The reason being because all of the names on the dial were candidates. The image of the tower seemed to be the monastery Desmond stayed at. What’s wrong with this? Desmond’s not a candidate.
… or is he?
Mind you, can also very well be Oxford University, where Faraday conducted his experiments.
Another thing I wanted to point out was the fact that Rousseau was indeed a candidate.
As well as Kate Austen?
