Geekscape Lost Recaps – Dr. Linus
This episode was definitely better than the last, but that may be because I don’t really care for Sayid. Anyway, here’s what caught my attention this last episode:
Ben tells us his life story while explaining Napoleon’s
While Ben is teaching the class, he describes Napoleon as a leader who lost his power. He also said that he was just a title holder and that he’d be better off dead. In this episode, that almost came true.
Another thing that caught my eye was when Locke made the suggestion that he should be principal of the school in the Flash Sideways. On island, NotLocke made the same suggestion towards the end of the episode.
Roger Linus
Did anyone else find it funny that Rodger was dependent on oxygen in the Flash Sideways but died by poison gas on island?
What stood out the most to me was how much of a good relationship Ben had with his father. This continues the trend of good father relationships (Jack, Locke, Sawyer?), as opposed to “all the best cowboys have daddy issues” in the Flash Sideways realm.
The Island
It’s clear that the hydrogen bomb or Orchid destroyed the island and Dr. Marvin Candle’s warning saved many lives, if not everyone’s in the Flash Sideways. That means there’s a Charlotte out there somewhere.
Candidates
As of right now, there are six candidates:
Jack
Kwon – Sun and/or Jin
Hurley
Kate
Sawyer
Lapidus?
–In last season’s season finale, it was hinted that Frank Lapidus was a candidate. In this episode, Ilana tells Sun “there ARE only six left.” This means she’s not counting Locke or Sayid.
Richard Alpert and the Black Rock
First off, where was Richard coming from when he jumped out of the jungle in front of Jack and Hurley?
Second, it’s obvious Richard arrived at the island as a slave, just as everyone else has.
Alex Rousseau
On the email sent to the principal in the Flash Sideways, the name reads:
This could only mean that Danielle is alive, yet she never mentioned her father. Is it possible since he wasn’t alive while she was growing up, that he isn’t alive in the Flash Sideways too?
Now it’s time for…CRAZY THEORY OF THE WEEK!
The Ash
While Ilana was holding Jacob’s ashes, it made me think, could it be that the ash that’s scattered to keep the Man in Black at bay be the remainder of past protectors? If so, is that why NotLocke didn’t go kill Illana and gang?
Hope you enjoyed reading!
