Does The Big Screen Adaptation Of MacGyver Have Its Director?
The massively-popular television show from the 1980’s has been rumored to be getting the big screen treatment for quite some time now. Rumor around the block is that New Line Cinema has hired Australian director James Wan (Saw, Insidious) to bring Mac to the big screen. Currently filing this in the rumor department at the moment though because I can’t seem to find any word of it elsewhere.
With the series being re-aired on the Cloo TV as well a five-issue mini-series…could MacGuyver be making a comeback? James Wan has gone on to state that he was a big fan of the show growing up and the show’s creator, Lee David Zlotoff, has stated that he likes James Wan’s take on the material.
His vision for the film sounds almost identical to mine so I’m excited.
So, will we see Richard Dean Anderson reprise his role as MacGyver? I’m going to guess the answer that is probably no. But hopefully we can at least get a cameo?
