‘Borderlands 2’ And ‘The Pre-Sequel’ Go Current-Gen In ‘The Handsome Collection’

Briefly: I joined the Borderlands camp way too late, ignoring countless recommendations from friends until long after Borderlands 2 was old news. Then I finally played it at a LAN Party, and was hooked for weeks (or months… a long time in any case).

I first played the game on a laptop, and after playing the title with a keyboard and mouse it would be very hard for me to transition to a controller, but in any case the just-announced Borderlands: The Handsome Collection looks more than intriguing… especially that collector’s edition. And yes, I get that this is yet another remaster of an older game(s) on two console that already have far too many remasters.

The Handsome Collection hits PS4 and Xbox One on March 24th (in the US, international is March 27th), and includes remasters of both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. For the first time (and this is probably the most exciting part) both games will offer four-player local split screen multiplayer, so you can actually play the damned thing on the same couch as the people you’re playing with. Not bad, huh?

You can even transfer your saved games from the last-gem versions.

The Handsome Collection will launch for $59.99, and will also include all of the vast amounts of DLC for both titles. 2K has also revealed a pretty substantial Claptrap-in-a-box edition. Here’s what they had to say about it:

Act fast, because these things won’t last long! The Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition will be available at participating retailers in North America as well as internationally.
