‘Beverly Hills Cop’ TV Show Coming From Eddie Murphy And Shawn Ryan

Vulture has revealed that the Beverly Hills Cop movie series is being adapted to hit the small screen.

According to the article, The Shield creator Shawn Ryan is in charge of the project. Vulture’s sources state that the project will be shopped around starting later today. Some really cool news about the project: in addition to serving as Executive Producer, Murphy will be portraying an on-screen character. The show is thought to revolve around the police career of Axel Foley’s son, while Axel himself is now the chief of police and will be designed around the “Buddy Cop” formula. Based on the property and the names attached, my guess is that it will be picked up quickly.
