‘Adr1ft’ Now An Oculus Rift Launch Title, Pushed To 2016
Briefly: I was beyond excited for 505 Games upcoming Adr1ft when I first heard about the title back in June.
The game “is an immersive First Person Experience (FPX) that tells the story of an astronaut in peril. Floating silently amongst the wreckage of a destroyed space station with no memory and a severely damaged EVA suit slowly leaking oxygen, the only survivor struggles to determine the cause of the catastrophic event that took the lives of everyone on board. The player fights to stay alive by exploring the wreckage for precious resources, and overcomes the challenges of an unforgiving environment to repair the damaged EEV and safely return home.”
It basically looks like Alfonso Caùron’s Gravity in video game form, and that sounds so freaking cool.
The game was slated to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One at some point this month, but the developer has revealed that the September release simply isn’t going to happen.
Because Adr1ft has been hand selected to be an Oculus launch title when the consumer Oculus Rift hits in Q1 2016.
I’m bummed about the delay, but that’s pretty damned cool. I just hope that it’s still coming to PS4, because I do not have the cash to build a gaming PC.
