Teabag Prevention: How to Suck Less at Gears of War 2 – Week 3 = Hail
Remember the days of old, when enemies fell victim to the train of Tyro Station? Or when you watched idiots choke in the poison gas on Garden? Don’t you love those maps with the “third party” in them? If your answer was yes, then mark Hail as one of your favorite maps.
When it rains on Hail, it pours. It pours so much that it hurts. Outside, there are train cars that you can hide in and canopies that you can take cover under. The power weapons are, of course, outside.
TIP #1 – RELLA. ELLA. ELLA. ELLA.
Machine Gun Turret/Boomshot
Bow/Longshot
Grenades
Bridge
TIP #2 – MARK YOUR TERRITORY
Tagging is essential in a map like this. Seeing an enemy get caught between running into your trap or into the piercing hail is priceless. This is why you must tag entrances and other popular ways to get around the map. Just make sure they’re hidden.
People seem to like running past these stairs:
A:
and these:
B:
For A, try hiding the traps behind a box or even on the stairs themselves. By the time they notice your trap, it’ll be too late.
For B, try hiding them either on the bridge itself or on the staircase. The stairs themselves would be sneaky too.
TIP #3 – REAL MEN LIKE TO HIDE
Train cars are a must to hide under when caught outside. Planting smoke grenades in or around the train cars while taking cover will guarantee you laughs when you see your enemy rolling around in the hail while being shot at. Even if they’re just running by, the same effect takes place.
Another good hiding place would be under the canopy, up the stairs. When they go to pick up a power weapon, falling down either before or right after can suck horribly for them. Watch in glee.
TIP #4 – D-FENCE
Nothing defends better than a Machine Gun Turret. Make sure you set up where no one can get to you from behind, like sleeping over at your uncle’s. Don’t forget that you can also mount it on a wall or a box…not touching that one.
Keeping tabs on exits and entrances count for everyone. So, when playing something like Guardian, make sure you’ve got every door covered.
Things to Remember
- Always, always, be weary of the hail in Hail. It hurts like Hail…wow.
- Grenade tags are a must in any game type.
- Hiding places work well with this map because of the hail factor.
- Keep tabs on every power weapon so that you don’t walk into a trap. Ackbar can’t always be there for you.
