Teabag Prevention: How to Suck Less at Gears of War 2 – Week 2 – Paviilion

Pavilion. This is not exactly a hated map. In fact, it’s actually pretty well-liked. It’s a generally good experience. It doesn’t have unfair spawn points and the weapon spawns don’t lead to one side of the map or the other. It is a well-balanced map, and a great one to play on, if you know what you’re doing. Here’s how to have your fun without eating iton Pavilion.

TIP #1 – IT’S Y’TOYS!

Gun Turret

This can be found in the center of the map. If used efficiently and set up in a good spot, this will rip through the enemy team.

Moater

This can be found at the bottom part of the map. It’s protected by cages and when activated, one side (your side) opens as the other stays shut.

Boom Shield

The shield is effective when you use it as portable cover. It also comes in handy when you’re flanking the enemy team.

TIP #2 – THERE’S NO “I” IN TEAM, BUT THERE’S A “MEAT”

The fisrt battles of the round are usually fought in the center of the map as soon as you enter the battlefield. It’s important to work as a team to shoot down target after target, so that you may eliminate the better half of the enemy team. Take cover next to each other and support each other. If one of you gets shot at, shoot at the enemy who’s shooting them. This is all about team work. if you lose one guy, it would be like losing one guy in real life. it would be disturbing, unfortunate, and he’d never call you back…what?…oh….

Once the battle is just about won, or is turning in your favor, don’t be afraid to rush out to grab the gun turret. You’re safe. For now.

TIP #3 – FLANK, DON’T FOLLOW

A savior among soldiers, ‘nades help tear the enemy team apart. They spawn at then end of the hall where you spawn. Every round, they switch off between Ink Grenades and regular Frags.

These ‘nades should be carried by those who are flanking. There’s nothing worse than having a grenade fall behind you and not seeing anyone throw it. It’s like farting: “Who threw that grenade?” “who threw it?!” “God dammit, Josh! Watch that crap! It hurts! It smells so bad it hurts!”

TIP #4 – WHY YOU SO FLANKY?

Flanking is important in any battle. It’s essential in this map. Flanking can be really easy on Pavilion if done right. Pistols that can be picked up can do major damage too.

A good way to go through this map is through the tunnel. On the way, you can grab the Boom Shield. If your teammates keep up the fire, you should have no problem holding your own. If things get tough, just retreat down the hall. Where the Locusts can’t seem to figure out you’re behind walls. If a Locust attack ever actually hits Earth, don’t worry, there are plenty of walls.
