E3 2014: ‘Dead Rising 3’s New DLC Is Too Insane To Be Real

Dead Rising 3 shined during the Xbox One’s launch, but just because it was a launch title doesn’t mean there’s not plenty of love being thrown its way courtesy of some new DLC. Needless to say, it can only be described as … surreal.

Titled Dead Rising 3: Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition + Alpha, I seriously thought that was a joke at first. But nope, it was real, and it looks amazing! Lettling players choose between the four series protagonists, including Frank West and Chuck Greene from the first two games, they will be granted costumes and abilities spanning the 31 years of Capcom’s history. Yes, even Mega Man.

For my money, Dead Rising 3 is the best exclusive game on either of the two newest consoles, and this content might be enough of a reason for me to get back into it. Being able to play as B.B. Hood, Regina from Dino Crisis or throw Shinku Hadoukens dressed as Ryu while fighting a horde of zombies looks like it could be one of the most bizarre, yet down right fun moments we could have with the game. That in itself is a huge feat to accomplish considering how tongue in cheek the game is already, but I can’t help but laugh at the self aware title. Oh, and watch out for giant Zombie Bison!
