A Geekscape Lost Final Season, Episode 1, Part 1, Recap
We all knew LOST would bring us in to a place of unfamiliarity. It didn’t take long to realize that this show introduced something foreign to most Americans, but elementary to most geeks: multiverses. This means multiple different dimensions working at once, existing in a storyline. So while reading this article, make sure you keep that in mind.
Nervous Jack
If you think back to season one, you may remember that Rose was the nervous flyer, not Jack.
What does this mean for us? Well, this Jack isn’t the Jack we grew to know six years ago.
“He started having me hold on to his wedding ring whenever we took a plane trip.”
Back in season one, Rose explained to Jack that Benard’s fingers would swell up during flights. Alternate universe Rose isn’t wearing her husbands wedding ring around her neck.
Blood on Jack’s neck
This one’s open for discussion. When the hydrogen bomb detonated, did it create copies of the Losties’ bodies? If so, why are they imperfect? Another thing to point out is that Jack is one of two characters that don’t seem like themselves.
Desmond
Now, to get things straight, Desmond was never on flight 815 originally, but he was the cause of the crash. Why would he appear and disappear mid-flight? And for those of you who didn’t catch it, Desmond’s ring finger has a ring on it. Is it possible that he’s married to Penny and already has his son?
Boone and Shannon
It’s obvious Shannon stayed with her boyfriend. Does this mean Boone and Shannon never…you know…
Chah-lee
So what are we looking at here? We’re looking at a dead Charlie Pace with a heroin baggy that is not in the toilet but rather in his mouth. We also see that this Charlie has shorter hair than pre-crash Charlie in season one. Charlie is the only other character here with shorter hair.
Smoke Monster
What we know:
- Smoke Monster is impervious to bullets, and judging by the picture above, Jacob’s warriors don’t know much about the Smoke Monster.
- Smoke Monster can’t cross a line, or circle, of ash, so he may be a ghost of some kind or even a demon.
Maybes:
- Smoke Monster can take the form of a human.
- Is man in black.
- Is John Locke.
- Is an alien, demon, demi-god or ghost.
