Teabag Prevention’s take on ODST!

I wasn’t expecting ODST to be very different from Halo 3. The game is definitely a stand alone title and should be highly anticipated. If you’ve been craving something new from the Halo universe, (I’m sorry you don’t like Halo Wars.), then this is what you’ll be playing this Fall.

NOTE: If you didn’t catch my first impressions, you can read them here.

The things I enjoyed most about ODST was the teamwork element of it. It’s increased and it’s a lot better. Unless you’re really good and like to work alone, you’re going to have trouble in Firefight. Though I played it on Normal , (no choice), Legendary is going to be a problem, as it should be. Your health no longer recharges, you get hurt from falling, and you just really get the feeling that you’re no longer a Spartan. And that’s bad ass.

Upon first playing, I noticed that I was running slower, I couldn’t throw grenades very far, and I couldn’t duel wield. To be honest, I was a little upset about this at first. That anger quickly died when I picked up a Brute Plasma Rifle. All of my Halo 2 memories returend to me and I was once again happy to be playing another installment in the Halo franchise.

Another thing I was slightly worried about before playing ODST was losing the ability to customize your…fighter? ODST gives you the ability to change your colors and the option to have your helmet on and off.

One thing that did surprise me was the fact that the charaters were vocal about kills, a la CoD WaW Nazi Zombies, which was great. It added to the experience.

Overall, playing ODST made me even more excited for the game. It seems that ODST gathers everything up from its predecessors and puts it all into the gameplay. Reserve your copy nao.
