Teabag Prevention: How to Suck Less at Gears of War 2 – Week 10 – Stasis
TIP #1 – P0W3R W34P0N5
Boomshot/Machine Gun Turret
Boomshot is where it’s at. Don’t pick the Gun Turret up unless you got yourself a plan. I’m talking a serious plan because there’s so many places to take cover from your spray of bullets.
Sniper/Torque
This is easy access to both teams. ‘Nades will be tossed, especially smoke. So be prepared to duke it out over what you love most.
‘Nades
Again, easy access. The spawn is on both sides of the map so both teams have the leathal advantage.
Pistol
If you’re able rack some kills up with pistols, there’s really nothing stopping you from picking one up. The spawns are on both sides of the map. Just be cafeful of rushing enemies that would be running straight towards you.
TIP #2 – The Map
This map can be complicated at times due to it’s minimal light and various obsticlas that litter the battlefield. Battles are fought in the middle of the map, but only somtiems. More likely than not, multiple battles will be occuring throughout the map within the first minute of the round. This is due to the fact that the weapon spawns are spread out and are easy to get to by both teams.
You’re going to have to pick and choose what you want in terms of weapons. So yes, planning will make this experience better. You can’t be too spread out because then you’ll just get picked off, so send groups of two or more to what your team is best at so you’re able to win.
TIP #3 – BOOM SHAKA LAKA
Tight quarters is a fact on this map. So getting the Boomshot is a logical decision.
When you do go to pick it up, be sure to take someone else with you. This can also be two people. There’s been instances where the whole team rushes Boomshot. Better safe than sorry. And if you do go up there, and you’re outnumbered and outgunned, just run. Maybe throw a smoke nade to buy you some time, but it’s very important to know when you’re on the losing side of the battle.
TIP #4 – F, F, HK
Using a combination of weapons can grant you success. Know what your team specializes in and use it. If you have an excellent sniper and/or pistoler, you’re bound to have kills and assists.
Torque Bow can be an important asset here too. Unlike the snipe, the Torque provides slpash damage. So you may not be able to hit them directly, but you’re able to aim at the ground in front of them, the wall behind them, or the pipes next to them. Either way, you’re going to do some damage, and hopefully enough for a teammate to move in and get the kill.
When you’re in the heat of battle, it’s important not to care about kills mostly, but to care about whether or not the other team is dead. If you have teammates that care about kills rather than working together, then deal with them in the proper fashion.
TIP #5 – Tagging
You’re definitily going to want to use the dark areas to your advantage here. Since most players may be looking to the walls and pipes for grenade tags, try tagging on the ground or on a wall corner, that way you take them by surprise when they may be fleeing from enemy gun fire.
Also, frags can easily make campers uncomfortable. Try throwing some up to the one camping at Boomshot if you need to.
